Adult Wing Chun
Our Adult Martial Arts program pairs traditional Wing Chun with genuine, pressure-testing. Our classes get you ready for realistic situations.
Beginning Classes
You don't have to travel to China to get authentic Wing Chun training. Tampa Wing Chun offers one of the most complete adult martial arts programs in the area, teaching the entire Ip Man system from first class to advanced.
We believe in pressure testing our Wing Chun. This is the only realistic way to make sure our techniques work for self-defense. This philosophy, practiced over and over, builds confidence, speed, power, and strength. Concepts are useless without pressure testing and sparring.
We have Beginner and Advanced Wing Chun training available six days a week. You'll gain the skills and knowledge to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Martial Arts Classes
Our studio, located on the corner of W. Fletcher and N. Florida, is focused on cardio, cardio, and more cardio.
A martial artist can know all the greatest self-defense techniques in the world, but without the proper motor (cardio) to power those techniques, they may prove useless. That's especially true in a situation involving more than one attacker.
When your cardio improves, your overall general health improves right along with it.
“This school has excellent training, excellent instructors, and the members are delightful to be around.”

Private Lessons
In a group environment, a student may become lost, disinterested, or even fearful. In a one-on-one private lesson, they won't feel intimidated by other, more experienced students, and can progress at their own pace while building rapport and trust with the instructor.
A private lesson can be arranged with the head instructor at any point. In these sessions, the Sifu and student train at the student's own pace. Lessons are available for all beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels.

Our Family Martial Arts program brings parents and kids onto the mat together, building real confidence, discipline, and age-appropriate self-defense skills side by side.
In Chinese, kung fu means "hard work" — and it's not only used for martial arts. The term refers to any skill acquired through learning or practice: a word meaning "work," "achievement," or "merit." Chinese martial arts have long been tied to self-defense, hunting techniques, and military training in ancient China.
Kids learn how to stand up for themselves with confidence and authority. Physical fitness helps promote mental strength and resilience.
Parent/Child Classes
Our parent/child classes are built to be fun while still teaching your kids real, valuable skills. Your child will learn how to defend themselves in an environment that keeps them engaged. The classes are hard work too, which helps keep your child fit and healthy, all while staying fun and enjoyable.
Our Instructors
Our Kids Kung Fu classes are taught by patient, encouraging, and highly skilled instructors, so children feel safe and happy to learn. Kids build focus, coordination, stamina, and overall confidence, benefits that carry over into school and everyday life. Each age group follows its own curriculum, with self-defense techniques and kung fu skills introduced step by step.
On Bullying
Children bully other children out of a lack of self-respect and confidence, seeking out targets they perceive as weaker than themselves to boost their own sense of self-worth.
The atmosphere in our school teaches kids that there can be no self-respect without respect for others. We don't tolerate bullying, and we teach kids that how they treat others reflects on them — both here and at school. Martial arts emphasizes control and discipline, helping kids learn healthy ways to cope with negative emotions.
Common Questions
While we teach kids to be tougher and more confident, it's all in the name of self-defense and as a last resort — not as a weapon to attack. By learning self-defense, they gain a better understanding of themselves and those around them, which actually promotes more peace overall.
Yes. Many children who are fearful feel less so after studying martial arts. They gain confidence in their ability to defend themselves if needed, which helps conquer fear.
Children are taught the necessity of discipline and self-control, as well as respect for others and themselves. Any child who uses Kung Fu techniques to bully or hurt other children, whether at school or elsewhere, will be disciplined. Children who are disrespectful to parents, teachers, or other authority figures will be disciplined by the head instructor as well.
Martial arts is one of the best ways children can learn unshakable, razor-sharp focus. Kids are able to pay attention in school, feel better about themselves, maintain eye contact during conversations, and feel good about themselves in all aspects of life. As a result, kids stand taller, smile bigger, and perform better — overall happier, and proud of who they've become.
